Logline: A sleep-deprived art student attempts to take a study break as delirium kicks in and brings her surrealist studies to life.

Synopsis: Known for her all-nighter study sessions and subsequent delirious antics, art student Alli decides to take a study break and join her classmate for a night out in Austin, TX. On her walk over to his place, weird and unusual things stop her in her tracks. She soon finds herself immersed in a world made up of surrealist images, some undoubtedly inspired by her studies.

This piece originally wasn't a piece at all. Just a title I thought I could use for a poem. Years later, I had a bizarre dream that I kept replaying until I woke up. I immediately wrote it all down, which became the first draft of this script. The dream was so bizarre, surreal, and well, just delirious! I revised my initial draft with the intention of being an artsy film jam-packed with colorful, thought-provoking images flowing out of an art student's subconscious. The days of being a sleep-deprived college student came in handy.

All aboard the delirium train!

A young woman reflects on a recent relationship.

"I hope she’ll be a fool—that’s the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool."

~Daisy, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

The above line from the classic novel, The Great Gatsby, was the starting point for this poem. Coupling this sentient with relationship woes, the poem came into shape, growing beyond its starting point. It returned home when it came to filming, as the lead actress and I talked about what a modern-day Daisy would resemble and how our environment today affects us as young women.
